Care Assistant for Nights

Skills required

You will have:

  • The ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • The ability to communicate with tact and sensitivity
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • The ability to be organised and time efficient

What you will do

The role will involve staying awake through the night. You will assist older, vulnerable people with all aspects of personal care, including assisting them to go to bed and to get up in the morning, ensuring good pressure relief throughout the night, assisting with food and fluids, and ensuring that all electronic and paper logs are updated during your shift. There is an element of cleaning included with this role such as sanitising the bathrooms and toilets and cleaning the sitting rooms and corridors.

The Maples is a small residential care home, with a strong focus on good quality care lead by committed and passionate staff. We offer on-going training and mentoring by a supportive and caring management team.

Career path and progression

All mandatory training and support are delivered through a structured and person centred-training system. For those who show the desire and potential, there are real career and training opportunities available to facilitate progression to roles such as Senior Care Assistant or medication training leading to the role of Medication Technician.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent. Two or three nights per week 8pm–8am.

Care Assistant for Days

Skills required

You will have:

What you will do

Your day-to-day duties may include (this is not an exclusive list):

  • Getting to know residents, their interests and their needs.
  • Helping residents with daily personal care such as washing, dressing, using the toilet and feeding themselves.
  • Carrying out general tasks such as housework, tidying, organising.
  • Helping residents to live a full and meaningful life.
  • Ensure a safe and friendly environment.
  • Working with other health and social care professionals to provide individual care and development plans.
  • Helping with leisure activities.
  • Escorting residents to health appointments, outings etc.
